摘 要:
Data analytics techniques have been applied widely in real-world applications. Cyber network intrusion is a growing threat with potential serious impacts, which can be damaging in multiple ways to network infrastructures and digital/intellectual assets within the cyber space. The most commonly employed approach to combating network intrusion is the development of attack detection systems by applying machine learning and data mining techniques. These systems identify and disconnect malicious network traffic, and thus help protect networks. This talk will discuss two groups of commonly used intrusion detection systems using fuzzy logic and artificial neural networks, based on the widely used dataset KDD 99. From this, the key challenges and opportunities in addressing cyber-attacks using artificial intelligence techniques are summarised. The talk ends with the discussions on future directions of cyber security systems.
